'Draws upon 6.2 hectares of estate vineyards, all of which are now fully mature and which (along with a similar amount of Cabernet Sauvignon) constitute the major estate plantings. First made in 1975, then one of the flagships not only of Plantagenet but for the region as a whole. Light straw-green; strong kerosene characters are already emerging on the bouquet, and likewise on the powerful, grippy palate; in metamorphosis, but will age, albeit at the big end of town.'-James Halliday
